Ha ha ha

I found this photo of myself with 70's chick-style hair. This is when we were in Ottawa this past summer. Why didn't anyone let me know I looked so faggy?

Tall Ship Cruise

The boys got to take the wheel. Tara set the sail. Marla sat there looking pretty.

It's Fall

Sure, it's great and all that they want to rake the leaves but I see through them - their plan is obvious.

Complete Suckitude

Well Declan's hockey schedule is ever changing but seems to be settling down. Unfortunately, what it is settling on is a steaming smelly dogpile. Allow me to explain:
  1. There are two ice surfaces in Sackville: the Arena and the Stadium. fine.
  2. We are a one vehicle family. fine.
  3. Darby's ice times are set at 9am Saturday at the Arena and 7am Sunday at the Stadium. no problem.
  4. I'm one of the coaches on the ice for Darby's team. (Hardly, a team at this point- it's hockey school). cool.
  5. I was asked to help out as an assistant with Declan's team as well. super cool.
  6. Declan's coach calls last night to tell us that it looks like moving forward Declan's games and practices will be 9am Saturday at the Stadium and 6am Sunday at the Rink. NOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooo!
  7. Furthermore, typically in the past the games were always the second ice time which would have meant 6am games - no body wants that - who would. So the games will be played on Saturday 9am. I won't get to see any games unless I give up coaching!!!! &#%$&#%$@!!!!!
I was totally enjoying coaching! Why is this happening????

Kealey Shillelagh

My dad provided me with this photo while I was in Ottawa this summer. He got it from a guy who got it from a guy who ... I don't really know. What is it? It's is a picture of Darby Kealey's shillelagh which is in the archives of the Canadian Museum of Civilization. No ,not my son Darby, the Darby Kealey who was the first Kealey (or at least one of the first Kealeys, I believe he arrived with cousins) in Ottawa way back in the day such that the exact date is not known - let's say early 19th century. My dad says that if you want to physically see it, you'll have to make an appointment with the curator and give them at least a weeks notice - it's currently not part of the general displays - but it should be eh? For those not in the know, a shillelagh is for beating the shit out of someone - LOL.
