Another bear attack...

...on our garbage last night. A bear got into our bear-proof garbage cans AGAIN. He took the bag out of the can and brought it across the street to pillage.

I had noticed the bugger in our laneway earlier in the evening. Being a manly man, I scared the crap out of him. Seriously, there is a big bear turd in front of our house. How did i intimdate the bear you ask? Well, it was a simple matter of turning on my car alarm. My mistake thinking the problem was solved. Marla thinks he came back around 2:30 am and stealthly stole the bag and made a run with it. Yep, he ran across the street and made a freaking mess AGAIN.

Don't be thinking that I didn't do my share of garbage clean-up just because Marla happens to be in this picture. I had previously clean up two bags of garbage!!!

Hallowe'en.

Well, we forgot to take photos of the kids this Hallowe'en. Its not such a tragedy though - they were all the same thing they were last year - AND THE YEAR BEFORE! It wasn't that we were being cheap - its what the kids wanted. Seriously.

I didn't have a good Hallowe'en at all. In a way I did, we had at most 40 kids come to the door. This translates into more goodies for me as we didn't go through even half of what we bought. What sucked about the night was the party that was going on across the street and down a wee bit. It was high school kids setting off firecrackers/fireworks until pretty f-ing late. We were supposed to all go over to Tara and Wayne's for some fireworks but I felt I had to stay home and guard the castle. You see, I noticed early on in the evening that the kids from the party like to come beside my fence to have a smoke (which didn't smell like cigarettes btw). The traffic of teenagers around my house was quite steady. We've had our fence kicked in a couple times in the past and I had a feeling it would happen again but fortunately it didn't happen. At times the smoke from the smokers combined with the fireworks being set-up in the street beside the house was pretty thick (we have a corner lott for those who don't know). Anyways, I missed out on the fireworks because I wanted to keep an eye on things. Not too much happened, but that may because I made my presence known numerous times by going for short little walks outside.

Marla and the kids had a good Hallowe'en!

Scooby

I felt rushed this year and didn't get to do as fancy a pumpkin as I would have like. I carved this around 4pm on Halloween - yes, I left it to the last minute. Nothing came to me so I asked Ella what she wanted. I already know what I am going to do next year though , the ideas flooded in once I was finished carving.

We grew our own pumpkins this year and we will from now on. They grew like weeds in out backyard.
